New Documentary to Detail SBF-CZ Relationship, FTX Saga

Activities are going on to release a documentary series focusing on the relationship between Sam Bankman-Fried and Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao, the FTX saga, as well as the developments that led to the crypto exchange’s abrupt collapse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, and Archie Gips, co-founders of the non-scripted film company Unrealistic Ideas, collaborated on the project with Fortune, a well-known media outlet.

Zhao and Bankman-Fried, who have been both allies and competitors in the industry, will be the subject of an in-depth examination in the documentary of their interpersonal relationship.

I’m particularly excited about this project as we have exceptional access to dynamic storytellers who were part of the unfolding drama between these two figures,” Stephen Levinson, executive producer at Unrealistic Ideas, said in a statement.

The documentary will give a 360-degree analysis

Fortune Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell stated that this documentary will give viewers a 360-degree, in-depth look into the entire FTX saga, even though some aspects of this story have already been covered in articles and on social media.

It’s an honor to join forces with Unrealistic Ideas and their well-known storytelling abilities to bring this important story to life,” Alyson said.

The abrupt collapse of the FTX in November 2022 was one for the pages of history, shaking the entire industry and dragging down crypto prices.

Zhao, however, was at the epicenter of FTX’s failure. The Binance CEO declared his intention to sell the company’s holdings in FTT, FTX’s native token, in November.

According to him, they made the choice as part of “post-exit risk management,” which was guided by information that had surfaced on FTX. Moreover, he added, Binance would not support individuals who oppose other participants in the cryptocurrency industry. These remarks sparked a significant bank run.

Changpeng Zhao has also agreed to take part in the documentary, as have other industry leaders, to provide a comprehensive view of the relationship between Bankman-Fried and Zhao—the two crypto titans.

The story of SBF and CZ, as well as what actually transpired between the two entrepreneurs, has fascinated the imagination of people within and without the crypto industry.

Nevertheless, it is not surprising that major production companies want to create movies and documentaries about it. Although the documentary’s release dates are currently unknown, many members of the cryptocurrency community are excited about the concept and eagerly anticipating its release.
