Bitcoin (BTC) mining firm Riot Platforms produced a new all-time high of 740 BTC in January — a 62% year-on-year increase.
The firm sold 700 BTC during the period, generating $13.7 million, according to a Feb. 6 statement. It added that its BTC’s holding stood at 6,978 BTC as of Jan. 31.
Riot hits new ATH despite ongoing repairs
Riot’s CEO Jason Les said the new production record was made despite reducing its deployed fleet and hash rate capacity.
Les disclosed that some section piping of the firm’s Buildings F and G in its Texas-based Rockdale Facility was damaged during the December winter storm. According to him, the two building account for about 2.5 EH/s of its hash rate capacity. He added:
“We have successfully brought Building F back online, representing 0.6 EH/s of impacted hash rate capacity.”
Meanwhile, the damage would delay its targeted total hash rate capacity of 12.5 EH/s for the first quarter of 2023.
As of Jan. 31, Riot had deployed a fleet of 82,656 miners. The number would rise to 83,808 miners when it deploys 1,152 machines — this would bring its total hash rate capacity to about 9.4 EH/s.
